Is Post Office~= Royal Mail ?
Tuesday, 17 April 2007 09:54 amIn September Royal Mail changed my Post Code. Most internet databases haven't caught up with this yet.
I want to find a Post Office which can handle car tax. Yes you can do it on-line but our post offices are being closed because they aren't being used and I support the campaign to keep post offices.
I went to the Post Office™ branch locator web page and entered my new Post Code, to be told There was an error looking up your postcode, please check and try again. I try again with my old code and get a list of post offices near me.
I can understand other databases taking a while to catch up with post code changes, but if the Post Office and Royal Mail are part of the same organisation and working together, six months after the change *they* should be able to handle the new one. I've asked them whether I should go back to the old one ?
